Trip to D.C.- travel

Dear readers, my mother and I are going to D.C. for National History Day. Yesterday we traveled.

My father and brother drove us to the airport in Kansas City.

Emotional goodbyes.

My mother used a kiosk to register our checked suitcase. This is the place where we transported all our normal clothes. We also had a little suitcase for my uniform, hat, and smaller props. Our plan was to put this in the overhead shelf of the airplane.

We went through security but I refrained from taking any photos.

My mother recently read the book “Spare” which is an autobiography of a prince. The cover of this book features a large photo of the Prince’s face. It always feels like he’s staring deep into my soul. My mother was a bit embarrassed about reading Spare. For both of the reasons listed above, I liked to take “exposing photos” of my mother reading Spare. Example below:

I felt like a paparazzi when I took this photo a few weeks ago. The caption of this photo in a tabloids magazine would be “Amy Tyndall caught redhanded with a book that might not be of the highest literary quality!!!!! Scandolus!!!!!” (Not like I’ve ever read a tabloids magazine) Also, it feels like the prince is staring at me.

After all the fun I had with taking paparazzi pictures, I was excited when I saw the airport shop display pictured above. He is watching….

We went to a little cafe in the airport to purchase food.

We sat down to eat our food.

They ended up making us gate check our litte suitcase.

We boarded the plane.

We took a selfie on the plane.

They brought us beverages.

I enjoyed looking at the clouds. When I fly with my dad I don’t get to see clouds because he either stays under them or flies on a clear day.

Paparazzi shot my mother took of me.

We flew over D.C. as we landed.

We walked through the airport.

We had to take a shuttle to get to the rental cars.

Our rental car has Flordia license plates.

We drove through D.C.

We went to Target to purchase a folding table and chair for my performance.

At our hotel, we used a bellhop cart to transport our belongings to our room.

We went to Mom’s organic market to buy food.

We also went to Shoppers.

I ate supper at my newly acquired table and chair.

More updates on our trip to come.
