We began our morning by opening gifts. Unfortunately, my father didn’t have any.

Luke worked on putting together his new Lego sets.

My parents. My mother was sick, but she put on a brave face.

Everyone except my mother went to lunch with my uncle cousins and Nonnie and Poppy. There was a strong gender divide.

As I mentioned before my mother was sick. In the evening, she was struggling. I told her she needed something special and companionship. I suggested a jigsaw puzzle, which was rejected. Then I suggested a movie and she chose “Holiday Touchdown, A Chiefs Love Story.” I’ve never been a fan of football or Halmark, but I agreed to watch and found it quite cringy. I did work on my own jigsaw puzzle while it played.
