Dear readers, as I’ve been blogging about our recent trip to D.C., I have been reminiscing about my U.S. presidents birthday party. This event, held on September 24, 2011 celebrated my 5th birthday.

The cake featured the presidential seal.

Each cupcake featured a different U.S. president. I would like to say that I ate the Truman one (located in the far left), but my memory fails me on this point. My mother tried to convince me to chose just one president to base the party around, but I insisted on having all 44. (That was before Trump and Biden.)

I wore a stylish George Washington skirt. We had a rap that recited all the presidents, that was played during the party. I remember people calling me “Madam President.”

If I had known when I was five that at age 17 I would be awarded a White House History prize for research done at a presidential library, and would be visiting 1600 Pennsylvania Ave while wearing presidential attire, I think I would have been pleased.
