Dear readers, I have taken a break from chronicling our D.C. trip because I have been very busy this week with VBS.
Luke and Mother taught missions and boat building. I was the lead teacher of 19 amazing Kindergarten students in the morning. In the afternoon I was the group guide for a combined Kindergarten class of 30. I won’t say this week was easy. There were times when I was very overwhelmed and felt like I just couldn’t keep going, but God gave me the energy I needed to make it through the week. He gave me the energy to deal with one more bathroom emergency, yet another emotional breakdown and countless times of lining up, making sure we had everyone, and trying to get kids to quiet down. When kids tapped me on the shoulder and said “Hey teacher” for what seemed like the hundredth time, God gave me the patience I needed to answer whatever their question was this time. He helped me be understanding when kids started crying for no apparent reason. He gave me room in my brain to keep track of everyone’s lunch boxes and craft projects and make sure they got to the right person at the end of the day. God gave me the ability to do much more and last much longer than I ever thought I could. I am so grateful that he chose to use me in the lives of these precious kids.
“Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
-Romans 12:2
